How To Make A Homemade Ice Pack

  1. Use a Double Zipper ZipLoc Freezer bag, of appropriate size
  2. Fill bag 45% with water
  3. Add 22% of volume with Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol
  4. Seal bag as you squeeze as much air out of bag as possible.
  5. Shake bag to mix up the contents
  6. Put in freezer (it should become a slush consistency when ready for use)
  7. Apply ice bag to injured area for 30 minutes only at a time

CAUTION: Because you are using a plastic bag out of the freezer, be sure to put one layer of damp cloth between the ice bag and your skin to prevent a burn.

Return ice bag to freezer for future use
