Dr. Terry K. Gemas is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who founded Lakewood Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in 2005.Special Interests
Dr. Gemas has a special interest in sports related injuries as well as cutting-edge arthroscopic and other minimally- invasive procedures, total joint replacement, MAKOplasty computer assisted surgery and general fracture care.Education
Dr. Gemas started his undergraduate training at Clemson University in South Carolina where he was a member of the varsity football team. After completing his training in Pre- Physical Therapy, he moved to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1987 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. He entered medical school at the University of South Carolina in 1991 and after completion started residency at St. Luke's Medical Center in Cleveland Ohio for orthopaedic surgery. He was a chief orthopaedic resident at the world renowned Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. In 2001, he completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at The University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. He has practiced in Dallas, TX since 2001 and holds a Certificate of Advanced Qualifications (CAQ) in Sports Medicine.Professional Organizations
